CCH Kitchen Staff, Cook & Kitchen Lead (Part Time, Contract)
Camp Chief Hector YMCA (Exshaw, Alberta)
Salary: $17.80/hr – $19.38/hr (Affordable Room & Board included)
Start Date: April 27th, 2026
End Date: September 4th, 2026 (possibility of extension for the fall/winter season)
*Successful candidate will work 40 hours/week.

What qualifications are we looking for?
· Previous experience in banquet and large volume kitchens or line cooking;
· Experience working with children and youth
· Strong communication skills
· A positive attitude and positive teamwork experience
· A love for the outdoors and the Rocky Mountains!
· Current Standard First Aid with CPR-C certificated within the last 12 months from an approved AB OHS provider. Asset if certification is issued by one of the following five Canadian organizations: Canadian Red Cross, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Lifesaving Society, St John’s Ambulance and/or Canadian Ski Patrol.
· Food Safe Certification (or willing to obtain with us)
· Clear Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search;
·Three professional references
What does this role look like at YMCA Calgary?
· Help with preparing nutritious and delicious food, including for people with dietary restrictions
· Ensure timely preparation of meals, and adequate storage of all food and supplies
· Support a positive kitchen culture and respectful workplace
· Support Camp Chief Hector YMCA risk management rules and guidelines
· Work as an active and positive member of the Camp Chief Hector YMCA staff team
· Cater to a high-end demographic with events such as weddings, conferences and retreats
· Ensure the kitchen is held at a high standard of sanitation and cleanliness
· Assist in the production of baked goods
· Ensure food waste is kept to a minimum
· Model and support the values of Camp Chief Hector YMCA and YMCA Calgary
