Job Description

Responsible for:

  • Planning, organization, and implementation of the Summer Camp menu.

(2-3 snacks/day and 3 meals/day)

  • Adhering to food safe procedures.
  • Provide family style meals on time with Summer Camp schedule.
  • Knowledge and ability to work with dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, lactose, celiac, halal, etc)
  • Keeping up with inventory, meal plans and shopping for food/supplies.
  • Ensuring work space is clean and organized.

 

Additional Duties:

  • Working with Program Director to work themes into meals, where possible.
  • Work with Program Director to plan menu for overnights.
  • Working with and leading volunteers assigned to the kitchen.
  • Keep communication lines open with Camp Director/Program Director.
  • Adhering to Covid protocols.
  • Any additional duties as required.

 

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 year of age or older
  • Management experience
  • Experience cooking for up to 50 people.
  • Experience working with children in a camp setting preferred.
  • Must be fully vaccinated.
  • Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check (with vulnerable sector search) and clear Child Intervention Check.
  • Must have or be willing to get First Aid certification and Food Safe Certification.

 

Additional skills: Must be outgoing, enthusiastic, hardworking and inclusive.
