Job Description

Responsible for: All aspects of Waterfront and Canoeing


  • Must remain alert while on lifeguarding duty.
  • Ensure that all camper/staff are watched over during waterfront.
  • monitoring lake activities and ensures camper/staff safety.
  • knowledge of rescue procedures and emergency medical procedures and enforce all safety guidelines.


  • Teach and lead campers through canoeing sessions.
  • Ensure that canoeing program is presented in an age-appropriate manner for each camper age.
  • Ensure each canoe has the proper safety equipment.
  • Ensure canoe program is taught within safety guidelines.


Additional Duties:

  • Monitoring weather for water related activities.
  • De-escalating issues with staff, volunteers and campers.
  • Assisting in transporting gear for overnights, and participating in over nights with campers and staff.
  • Filling into positions when needed to cover lack of staff or breaks.
  • Cleaning/chores.
  • Adhering to Covid protocols.
  • Any additional duties as required.



  • Must be 18 year of age or older.
  • Management experience
  • Experience working with children in a camp setting preferred.
  • Must be fully vaccinated.
  • Must be able to provide a clear Criminal Record Check (with vulnerable sector search) and clear Child Intervention Check.
  • Must have or be willing to get First Aid certification and Canoeing Certification.
  • Must be outgoing, enthusiastic, hardworking, and inclusive.


Additional skills: certifications or previous experience leading crafts, outdoor education, canoeing, spiritual programs an asset.
