Camp Yowochas is a year-round outdoor education centre and summer camp. From September to June, we
offer both day and overnight bookings for field trips, corporate events, holiday parties, retreat weekends, and
other private events. During July and August, we run day camp and overnight camp programs at our facility.
Job Summary:
Leads day-to-day food preparation at a summer camp, supporting the kitchen team to deliver nutritious, welltimed meals for campers and staff. Assists with staff coordination, follows food safety and sanitation standards,
manages inventory and prep schedules, orders food and ensures dietary needs are met in a fast-paced camp
environment.

• Camp Yowochas is a year-round centre located 80km west of Edmonton on Lake Wabamun
• Evening and weekend work is a requirement
• Hours of work will vary with registered programming
Job Responsibilities:
• Supervise other Kitchen Staff
• Order food for the kitchen
• Oversee kitchen maintenance
• Scheduling of staff
• Assist with providing excellent meals for Camp Yowochas summer camp and outdoor education
seasons
• Prepare and serve food to campers as directed
• All dishes washed and stored
• Maintain dining hall in clean and orderly manner
• Follow best practises for food storage and rotation
• Food services operations minimize waste; maximize efficiency; maintain a superior level of cleanliness
and ensure completion of necessary ongoing tasks
• Food preparation methods meet Alberta Health Codes and Alberta Camping Association Standards
• A friendly, helpful image is portrayed to centre clientele
• Maintain a high standard of efficiency and thoroughness
Qualifications:
• Experience cooking and/or working in a food service environment is an asset
• Customer service orientation
• Evening and weekend work may be required
• A criminal record check and an intervention record check through Alberta Children’s Services
• Alberta food safety certification or willingness to obtain
